OneSpot SXSW 2010 Panel Voting - AI 2010: Wall-e Or Rise Of The Machines?
Tuesday, August 18th, 2009by CK Thurber
As voting for panels continue, we’ll focus on one of our panels every day. Today, it’s a technology panel: AI 2010: Wall-e Or Rise Of The Machines?
Panel Description
Computers have come a long way since green screens; they have evolved into complex creatures. This panel explores artificial intelligence, from advanced cooking robots to algorithms that learn your musical preferences. Do we control AI or does it control us? Are we headed towards cute trash collectors or deadly terminators?
Questions this panel will answer
1. What is the current state of AI in 2010?
2. “Judgment Day” happens in 2011; how far off should it be now?
3. Were do we use AI that we know of?
4. Where do we use AI that we do not know of?
5. What are some powerful uses for AI?
6. Where is the privacy line with AI?
7. What are some potential “fail safes” to prevent AI from “thinking on its own”?
8. AI and the mommy blogger?
9. What are examples of AI in film translated into the real world?
10. Why can’t we all just get along?
We are so excited to plan this panel and the other 6 we have submitted. We hope you like them enough to vote and attend! Voting ends September 4th (don’t worry… we’ll remind/nag you!)
See you at SXSW 2010 and thanks for your support!
