The company’s patent-pending Publishing as a Service™ platform provides a fundamentally new and better model for media sites, traditional publishers, business brands and bloggers to leverage third party content that drives site traffic, audience engagement, SEO performance and email response rates. OneSpot was founded in 2005 by online news media pioneer Matt Cohen, and is backed by leading angel investors. The company is headquartered in Austin, TX.

Executive Team

Matt Cohen, CEO

Matt Cohen is the CEO and Founder of OneSpot. Previously, he was a Partner at G-51 Capital, one of Austin’s leading early stage venture capital firms. Matt has been working professionally with the Internet and digital content for nearly 20 years. He has consulted with companies nationwide on technology and business strategy, was Senior VP of Operations and CTO for New Century Network in New York (a content and advertising network of over 150 online newspapers), and co-founded HoustonChronicle.com in 1994, where he registered the first newspaper domain name (chron.com) in 1988. He holds a BA in Computer Science from Rice University.

He is active with many professional organizations, and serves on the Steering Committee for the Austin Chapter for the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship.

When not working, he is: spending time with friends, reading, cooking, running on Town Lake trail, listening to Austin’s amazing music scene, organic gardening, or watching movies at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Mason Hale, CTO

Mason has been building web-based software professionally since 1994. Mason comes to OneSpot after serving as Chief Technologist at world-renowned creative consulting firm, frog design, for eight years. As the founder and leader of frog design’s global technology consulting practice, Mason set the strategic technology vision for the firm and led the development of Web and software solutions for clients including Microsoft, Dell, HP, Sun Microsystems, SAP, Blockbuster, Victoria’s Secret, Motorola, Alltel, T-Mobile, Sprint/Nextel, Vodafone and TurboChef. Prior to joining frog design, Mason worked as a consultant building electronic-commerce solutions for clients including Apple Computer, Power Computing, QuestLink, Nortel and CES. Mason holds a bachelor’s degree in Radio-Television-Film and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management, both from the University of Texas at Austin.

When not working, he is: enjoying the outdoors with his family, swimming, camping, biking, or watching movies in his backyard theater.

Sarah Moore, VP of Business Development

Sarah has been delivering new business opportunities for early stage software companies for the last 12 years. She has a proven track record of building the sales organization for young companies like pcOrder.com, Lombardi Software and BetweenMarkets. Sarah is a graduate of Wellesley College and completed a graduate coursework at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of Texas before being drawn to the universe of tech entrepreneurs.

When not working, she is: playing with her kids, enjoying great food and wine, looking for the latest great music, trying to get her orchids to flower, and dabbling in modern dance.

Nainish Dalal, VP of Product Management and Client Services

Nainish has over 12 years of experience building Web-based solutions for Global 2000 companies. He was at Trilogy Software for 9 years where he worked in different technical management roles for clients like Nissan, Ford, Chrysler, NCR, Novellus and OCTanner. After Trilogy, Nainish worked with a few early-stage startups driving their product strategy. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Acton School of Business.

When not working, he is: spending time with his wife and two kids, playing tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, golf and poker.
